Wash the chicken. Prepare spices, salt, sour cream. Rinse the greens and tomatoes thoroughly and dry. Wash the carrots and onions.
Cut the chicken into portions. Cut along the joints, this will help you get through it faster. You should get about 14 pieces.
Peel the onions and carrots and wash them. Finely chop the onions and tomatoes, and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Fry the chicken in a frying pan on all sides for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Add prepared onions, carrots, tomatoes to the chicken and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
Add sour cream, herbs, spices to the vegetables, stir. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat. If you want more sauce, add 100 ml of hot water along with sour cream.
Serve the finished chakhokhbili on the table in a common dish, garnish with herbs. You can also serve it in individual deep plates with pieces of baguette that you will dip in the sauce.
