Wash the cherries, sort them and remove the seeds from the berries. Chop the walnuts coarsely and put a piece of walnut approximately the size of a berry seed into each cherry.
Boil the syrup. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan or saucepan, stir and place over high heat. Stirring the mixture periodically, wait until it boils and reduce the heat to low. Boil the syrup until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Boil berries and nuts. Place prepared cherries and remaining walnuts into boiling sugar syrup. Stir gently, bring the jam to a boil and remove from heat. Leave the jam to steep for 12 hours. After 12 hours, bring the jam to a boil again and simmer over low heat for another 3 minutes.
Pack the jam into jars. Place the finished hot jam into sterilized jars, close the lids tightly and leave to cool. Store cherry jam with nuts in a dark and cool place.
Serve cherry jam with walnuts with pancakes and vanilla ice cream. Place the pancakes on a plate, top with a scoop of ice cream and add a couple of teaspoons of cherry jam.
