Wash the basil in advance so it has time to dry. Also prepare the sauce in advance if you are making it at home. Instead of water, you can prepare vegetable or chicken broth, so the taste will be even richer.
Pour some water into the pan and add salt to taste. Then boil the peas in salted water for about 3 minutes.
Grind the peas in a blender along with basil and cabbage. Transfer the resulting mass into a saucepan, pour in water. As soon as the soup boils, add salt and pepper and remove from heat.
When serving, the soup can be garnished with a few basil leaves. This recommendation also applies to dried basil. It would be appropriate to serve a couple of walnuts with the soup; they taste great.
