Before starting cooking, peel the tangerines, divide them into slices and remove the white veins. Prepare and sterilize jars with lids for storing tangerine slices in syrup. Tip: To prevent the fruit from drying out, place it in a container with a lid.
Boil the syrup. Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add sugar, then cook for another 5 minutes. Then add the mulled wine mixture, turmeric, cinnamon and citric acid to the pan and leave the mixture to simmer over low heat until the syrup thickens completely. Then remove it from the heat.
Prepare tangerine slices. Place peeled tangerines into freshly prepared syrup. Then place the slices in syrup into jars and close the lids. Cool the jars at room temperature.
Before serving, place the tangerine slices in syrup into a separate saucer. Use an anise star as a garnish.
