Turnip is a root vegetable that began to be cultivated thousands of years ago in Ancient Egypt. For a long time, turnips were considered the food of ordinary people, but already in the Middle Ages, turnip dishes were presented as delicacies. In Rus', turnips were the most popular product for a long time before potatoes were introduced. The root vegetable gained popularity due to its taste and valuable composition: vitamins C, A, group B, as well as microelements iodine, zinc, copper, iron and others.
