Casserole is a dish that belongs to traditional Russian cuisine. In Rus', casseroles began to be prepared from the moment semolina became generally available. However, scientists claim that the roots of the casserole go back to France, where the recipe was invented. It wasn’t difficult to come up with it: people once decided to collect all the ingredients after a meal and combine them into one. And at first, casserole was considered a dish of the poor. Nowadays, casserole is a familiar dish to everyone, which, as a rule, contains semolina.
