Karakatitsa (Latin Sepiida) is an edible cephalopod, inhabiting in tropical and subtropical seas. In cooking, mainly small specimens weighing 300-600 grams are used. The word "karakatitsa" allegedly comes from the Old Slavonic "crust" - the leg.
