Corn
Corn (lat. Zea) - an annual herbaceous plant of the Zhelaki family. Sakhornaya corn, Mais (zéa máys) - valuable food, fodder and technical culture. The name Mais came from the Taino language, along with such words as canoe, tobacco, battles. The Russian “corn” appeared at the beginning of the 19th century and, apparently, is connected with other Slavic languages, where it means “curly”.
