Grate the pumpkin on a fine grater. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
Place the dough in a mold greased with butter or vegetable oil. Bake at 180°C for 45-50 minutes.
While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup. Pour juice and water into a saucepan, add sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes.
Remove the pie from the oven and immediately pour the syrup over it. Let it soak in.
Before serving, sprinkle the pie with crumbs or nuts, for example, pecans go great with this pie.
